Resilience Announces Expansion in West Chester

Project will create 440 new jobs and include further development of Resilience’s West Chester biomanufacturing site

SAN DIEGO and CINCINNATI , December 11, 2023 National Resilience, Inc. (Resilience), a technology-focused biomanufacturing company dedicated to broadening access to complex medicines, announced today that it is expanding its operations in West Chester, Ohio, and has committed to the addition of 440 new jobs with an associated annual payroll of nearly $29 million over the next three years in collaboration with REDI Cincinnati and JobsOhio.

“Ohio thrives on innovation, and the environment we continue to build here is ideal for companies that want to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. “The work underway by National Resilience is vital for increasing access to advanced pharmaceuticals in the United States, and the company’s expanded facility in West Chester will not only produce a wide range of life-saving medicines, but its work will also be critical to the protection of domestic biopharmaceutical supply chains.”

“Resilience’s West Chester expansion builds additional manufacturing capacity and a more resilient supply chain, further strengthening Ohio’s life sciences sector,” said J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO. “By nearly doubling its presence in West Chester, Resilience can continue advancing a mission of revolutionizing the way novel medicines are developed and manufactured.”

“Resilience adding more than 400 jobs to the region supports our well-established life sciences industry, spanning nearly 1,100 business locations from startups to homegrown companies,” said Kimm Lauterbach, REDI Cincinnati president and CEO. “With a job growth rate of 25% over the last five years and 17,000 workers, this announcement further solidifies the Cincinnati region as the center of health innovation coupled with our world-class research universities and medical institutions.”

The 440 jobs create employment opportunities across a wide variety of jobs, including manufacturing engineering, quality control, IT, and management. Of that, 274 will be direct employees and 166 will be contracted employees.

“After completing our purchase of the West Chester manufacturing site in January 2023, Resilience remains committed to the state of Ohio and we are thrilled to both further develop and modernize the facility and grow our West Chester workforce,” said Rahul Singhvi, Sc.D., Chief Executive Officer of Resilience. “Our West Chester facility plays a key role within Resilience’s network, as the site serves as our global center of excellence for commercial drug product manufacturing.”

“The significant investment by Resilience in West Chester will be impactful and sets the foundation for continued growth and investment in the advanced manufacturing and medical research arenas,” said West Chester Township Administrator Larry D. Burks. “West Chester Township is proud to be home to more than 3,700 exceptional and diverse companies. Together they create a vast network benefitting from West Chester’s location, access, workforce, and commitment to building a resilient local economy. Our residents and the world will benefit from the work of Resilience and West Chester is honored to be selected as the site for this investment.”
